“The Lord will perfect that which concerns me…” Psalm 138:8
We can easily trust in our own strength, abilities and experiences and say that we are doing well. We have God-given potential but we know we have so many limitations. Paul says, “We are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
It is God alone that knows the end from the beginning, and He holds everything in His hands.
In Psalm 138, David is praising God “…with his whole heart” because of God’s faithfulness (vs.1). David goes on to say, “In the day when I cried out, You answered me and made me bold with strength in my soul” (vs.3). David knew where his strength comes from. Then he concludes the psalm saying, “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands” ( vs.8).
God is in control. Paul reminds us in Philippians (1:6), “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Therefore, I will trust Him as He has a better view of His plan for my life from beginning to the end.
Will you trust Him too?
